[Manifold-l] Manifold Release 8 or The List Lives?

Well my experience with a lot of other programs is that they rarely miss a
chance to promote an upgrade and that is just good business AFAIK.
As for list vs forum, I find the forum much more informative with threads
being continuous and not mixed with a heap of the likes of email
header/footer rubbish. Reliability has also always been an issue with any
listservs that I subscribe too. Frequently emails don't arrive and I only
pick up on something part way through.

Personally, I feel that it is the user's responsibility for any application
to be checking the actual website for information on some sort of a
semi-regular basis. Might not be fair, but that is how I learn of most
upgrade for pretty much all of my software.
I think that the fact that Dimitri and Adam (read Manifold employees) post
to these forums is a bonus, but should not be construed as expected in
either group...
As for the RSS, you can click the icon on the main forum page and subscribe,
or you can subscribe to a particular thread. Icon's are on the main page
and at the bottom of each thread. Not sure how actual RSS readers work, but
in IE, I just click my little RSS button, and then "subscribe" an voila;-)
Cheers.
