As an amateur user I'd like to add my voice to those who belatedly
learned of Release 8 through posts on this list. Thanks to those who DID
post. They saved me a whack of money! I agree with those who find the
forum time-consuming, and also confusing to follow. It has it's place,
but I miss the notices and discussion that took place here.

Same story here, learned of V8 from a colleague. It irritates me that I
am no longer part of the Manifold community since they abandoned the
list, but the realities are that I haven't got the time to navigate the
forum, and if I did, the perception would be that I was just "wasting
time surfing the web", which I can't afford either. Since the death of
the list, I no longer learn anything about using Manifold and have
contributed nothing to the community, and I now use Manifold less than I
used to.... I don't like it, but that is the way it is.

We have been through this discussion several times before, and Manifold
has done nothing to include the list in the community....although Adam
still seems to be subscribed to it..... I would think that something as
simple as posting a daily digest from the forum to the list would be
something the manifold gurus could set up in 5 minutes, blindfolded with
one arm tied behind their back, but it seems that non-forum users just
don't count.

I guess we can just consider ourselves the "cool" manifold users,
working alone, in the dark, on the fringes of the community...... I feel
like I should go get a piercing ;o)
