[Manifold-l] Manifold Release 8

Does not the automatic "Check for Updates" function notify us of major
releases?  I realize some may turn this off if they are not always connected
to the internet.  Is this intended to only notify us of minor releases?  It
does that for me, but did not notify me of 8, which I learned about on the
forums.

Haven't been paying much attention lately. They should have an icon or
link somewhere on the page with the feed link. It works well in Opera.

I would not have known about the upgrade if it were not for this list.
Very exciting about the number of DB spatial extenders supported.
That's has to be a lot of work besides the usual bug-fixxing and
feature additions.

I put my upgrade in as soon as I found out. Thanks for mentioning it
here!
