[Manifold-l] Distance calculations

My guess is that you have a conflict in Coordinate Systems.  You are
building a non-projected point for which the native unit is degrees. Is
[Geom (I)] Lat/Long? Is [Geom (I)] a Point object? You may have to cast your
point to the correct projected coordsys in order to generate the distance in
miles.

Thanks for all of your help.  I am getting a type Mismatch error on
NewPointLatLon when I set up the following function in an ActiveColumn:

Function DStudio
DStudio = distance([Geom (I)],NewPointLatLon(-77.0770,38.9657),"mi") 
End Function

I think that it should work but it does not.  Any ideas?

I guess the more correct form would be:

SELECT
Distance( [Geom (I)],  NewPointLatLon(-120,35),'mi')
FROM [A]
