I too have just (yesterday) had a hardware failure on my desktop.
I upgraded my portable a while back, but not the 6.5 version on the desktop.
I assumed that as I still have activation keys available that I will be able
to re-install.
I will look forward to any suggestions.
(To emphasise the risk, one of my main clients has had two hard disk
failures in four months, both less than a year old.)

I just suffered a catastrophic loss of my desktop machine, along with
Manifold 7.x. I've run into major problems trying to install on my
new machine, as follows.
I don't have a disc with 7.x, only the downloaded upgrade from
version 6.5. and a serial number for 7.x obtained at the same time.
The d/l only installed on top of a copy of 6.5, so I tried to
reinstall 6.5 from the CD, which I did have. However, 6.5 won't run
because the serial number is older than 30 days. Moreover, I can't
get support for it, because it is not the current version, so I can't
get a new serial number.
Anyone have ANY idea how I can get 7.x on my desktop, other than buy
a new disc at full price? I still have it on my laptop, but I'd sure
like to see it on my 24" screen.
