Martin,
>> but we really shouldn't have to,
I didn't say I was impressed Martin, actually I was rather unimpressed and
probably quite verbal at the time.
Over the years I have worked out a defensive use of Manifold - lots of saves
of files at different versions, careful when up-grading etc.
I have no idea if the quality is better than any other GIS, but there have
been some howlers along the line.
The quality on balance is very good, but these sorts of issues shouldn't get
through ( I noticed a point reported at N degrees 60 mins or 60 seconds the
other day the same error Io reported at version 5.0).
Part of my problem is I found tech not very useful when reporting bugs in
the past, they always wanted a copy of the project (not possible, clients
don't like it), details of what you version and hardware, etc which used to
be followed by a support email telling me I have used up all my credits.
All we really need to do is have a way of reporting the bug with as much
info as we can or are willing to give at the time. I don't expect a reply.
This way at least Manifold would become aware of the problems.
Overall I still back manifold because I can do everything I need to, but you
are right we shouldn't have to..
Francis

I've found that importing each component into a new project tends to work,
but we really shouldn't have to, especially for projects created in 7x! What
is it about Manifold that means it has these issues? For .NET based code it
seems a bit surprising, unless it's something to do with the graphics
capabilities of the .NET engine itself.

When I moved to 7.0 one of my projects would not re-paint. I noticed I
could see everything if I moved another window over the one I wanted to see.
I copied every component one by one into a new project and seemed to recover
the data. I haven't had a problem since.

Hi everyone.
I'm wondering whether anyone else has experienced a problem with 7x like the
following and whether there is a known work-around or fix?
We are repeatedly getting a problem whereby a project created in 32bit 7x
will work fine for a while but will all of a sudden stop displaying any
components. It's literally as bad as that - there is no distinction between
type of component for example. We just get an empty window, not even a
background. It also doesn't seem to matter which machine the project was
created and/or viewed on either.
