With both the Matrox dual and triple head devices, you get two or three external monitors plus the one you already have on your laptop. So if you have the triple head device you actually can have 4 monitors total, with the dual head you get 3 total. ..."

"I agree it is a great product for laptops, but there are much better solutions for desktop PCs. You can spend a bit more and buy a triple head video card straight up, or you can even spend a bit less and buy 2 video cards of the same type, and run up to 4 monitors at a much higher resolution than the TripleHead2Go offers. ..."

"While it is true that you can add multiple video cards to your desktop, not everyone is comfortable in getting inside their computer. This device offers the ability to add 3 monitors without having to do anything but connect the cables, power supply and load the software. ..."
