MapInfo Professional 10.0 Rollout Tour: When the Hype Stays Home The
MapInfo Professional 10.0 Roadshow rolled into Boston in mid-September.
The Pitney Bowes Business Insights (PBBI) event followed the same
successful formula as the last one in 2008. First, Moshe Binyamin, the
global product manager, shared some tips and tricks for existing
versions and the new version 10. Then, attendees formed into teams for
a focus group exercise. The grand finale was a look at what's new in
version 10.0.

Clouds Forming #2: Intergraph's Mark Doherty on Geospatial Cloud Computing
A reader questioned how successful cloud computing can be in the federal government.
"The vast proportion of GIS programs are run by government. Federal
agencies are culturally unable to buy something intangible, and
State/Local agencies are fiscally unable to procure something that
requires year-to-year subscriptions. ..."
- Emile Zola, eMiner
Photographers Have Several Camera Options for Geotagging Pictures with GPS Points
Readers offered a few more thoughts on the subject.
"... However, until I can afford a new camera, I'll continue to rely on
my trusty Eye-Fi wireless/GPS 2Gb SD card. It makes my older Canon (and
even my wife's ancient Kodak) geotag capable. ..."
- Steven, Student
"Ricohs 500 SE is a nice piece of rubber. In some way "combat ready" and a good choice for pure documentation. ..."
- Seb, MBK GmbH
