A reader wondered if the early beep might be a symptom of a 400m track (vs. a 440 ft. one).
"If you are running on a track and you are hearing the mile beep before
you complete the fourth lap, then your GPS is probably pretty accurate.
Especially if you hear the beep about 30 feet before you complete the
fourth lap - assuming you are running on a 400 m track..."
