FLASH BANNER SPECIFICATIONS

Directions Media uses the industry standard clickTAG for tracking flash banner campaigns. In order to track ad clicks on Flash banners we ask that you please follow Adobe's official guide on setting up a Flash file to use the clickTAG variable within Flash.

Tutorial: Learn how to build clickTAG enabled Flash banners with click tracking capability using ActionScript

Quick Set-up: Below is a "before and after" ActionScript example that you may use as a guide.

Before (incorrect, URLS is hard-coded, not using clickTAG):

	on (release) {
          if (_root.clickTAG.substr(0,5) == "http:") {
            getURL("http://www.example.com", "_blank");
          }
        }

After (correct, using the clickTAG variable):

	on (release) {
          if (_root.clickTAG.substr(0,5) == "http:") {
            getURL(_root.clickTAG, "_blank");
          }
        }

Note: The clickTAG variable is case sensitive in new versions of Flash. clickTAG is good; CliCkTag is bad.
