  • Keep up the good work. You guys are doing a good job providing in-depth analysis of key issues in the geospatial (GIS) industry. I especially enjoyed your reporting on the MapInfo purchase.
  • Keep up the great work!!! Whenever I want to know what's going on in the industry I turn to Directions Media. I really enjoy listening to your podcasts as well as reading your informative editorials and latest news/press releases.
  • Directions is super. I use it to identify new technologies and applications and to get examples for my clients. It is a very valuable source of information on new products and vendors.
  • Unquestionably, Directions is the top GIS Newsletter. For a time I subscribed to several simultaneously. I have since unsubscribed to GISCafe, Monitor and Geospatial Solutions.
  • Directions Magazine editors clearly work very hard and are very dedicated to their jobs judging by the sheer volume and diversity of topics / events / news items covered. I don't read other location based services that much because I do not need to thanks to your professionalism and dedication.
  • I usually read two or three of the entries in All Points Blog (those of interest) and all the user comments following each one. Thanks for keeping me up-to-date!
  • I have really benefited in reading Direction Magazine since last year especially in my projects where I apply many ideas from these magazines. I will recommend these magazines to all people in education sectors.
  • I like the abstract provided with your Tuesday Podcast newsletter. It helps me decide if the Podcast will be of benefit to me.
  • The editorials are what set Directions Mag/APB apart from all the rest. I don't need to hear/read music intros, sports fanaticism, or unprepared discussion with my GIS news. DM/APB are also not just lists of press releases. Adena and Joe's commentary is always insightful, timely and well thought out. As a reader, I get a good interpretation of what is in the press releases and what it means for our industry. Even if a piece is not particularly relevant to my small business, I feel I get a good overall sense of what is going on out there, and that allows me to be prepared for any similar directions in my local market.
  • The primary source for geospatial news is sort of a self fulfilling prophecy - the main source is online because hardly anyone publishes in print anymore.
  • Love the new format, very easy and quick to read through to see what I am interested in. Helps keep me in the loop... Thanks.
  • Your magazine is so pertinent to what we do here at a county GIS department, that I regard it as work time when I scan it and relay useful info or tips about software that we might find interesting. Most of our work is with streets and parcels, but we get customer requests for other things, and my boss is really interested in the technologies of bringing new air photo imagery to users via our servers and via Google Earth, which the county supervisors are really taken with. The doings of the GIS organizations don't seem very related to most GIS users. I'll suggest a column or articles on GIS education in schools, highlighting the positive things that grade schools and colleges are doing. I'm always impressed with the amount of new grads who now know what GIS is, but didn't choose to take more than a couple of classes because they didn't see the career possibilities. Of course, working in local government, I don't see the grads who took more courses, because they probably went into private business.
  • As a marketer with a geography background, GIS technology has provided us with a competitive edge. GIS is used in decision making in several areas, direct marketing, sales, sales territory design, site selection and all targeting. I am however not a GIS professional and your newsletter has become much more specialized over time. I do read it and occasionally find some good info. You are doing good work in my opinion. Good luck. Mike
  • I read Direction Magazine to know what's new happening in LBS domain and use the applications available there.
  • Thank you for the information in your online magazine, it's good to know how the industry is developing, even if we can't, due to financial constraints, take part. We use GeoMedia in our land care work and would like to amplify its usability and information content.
  • I like the evolution that Directions has been taking over the past several years in providing timely updates on both the business and technology of location.
  • Directions help me a lot in implementation of GIS activities that are undertaken by my government in Kerala, INDIA
  • A high value newsletter where technical content and business value are in a healthy balance. One of my favorite GIS sources.
